When the Rangers signed veteran slugger Manny Ramirez to a minor league deal on Wednesday, GM Jon Daniels said he didn't see a potential downside to such a low-risk move. But Matthew Pouliout of NBC Sports wrote that the signing's impact extends beyond the field. In fact, Pouliout says by signing Ramirez, Daniels and the Rangers "lowered" themselves by giving a deal to a player who has twice been suspended for banned substances and was arrested for domestic battery two years ago.
